Equality, Inclusion and Diversity

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” Barack Obama

Here at River View, our primary aim is to create a school where each and every child feels a sense of belonging. We, as human beings, want to feel that we belong- not that we are included as an afterthought.

Through thinking carefully about the experiences we provide for our children we can truly create an environment of equity. Not one where every child is equal, but where the starting points of each child asks society to create stepping stones to successful futures. Gender, disability, age, race and sexuality are just some of the issues that we challenge within our curriculum.

We are currently working towards an Anti Racist School award and have already made some exciting and significant steps forward.

Perhaps you took part in our ‘Supporting our Communities’ survey or attended our ‘Community Coffee morning’ last term?

We are continuing this journey throughout 2024 and beyond and as always, appreciate your support in building an inclusive community for our children.

Look out for more events coming in the spring and summer terms.
