Year 1
Welcome to Year 1! Your teachers are Miss Glendening and Miss Meadows.
We are very excited to be teaching Year 1 this year. We are passionate about learning, developing a growth mindset and working collaboratively. Outside of school we love walking in the countryside, relaxing with friends and family, reading and exploring the outdoors.
Highlights of Year 1 are:
- Visit to Smithalls Open Farm
- Visit to Manchester Cathedral
- Visit to the beach
- Trip to Museum of Science and Industry
Our PE day is Thursday.
We use Seesaw for our learning. Please ask your child to take you on a tour of this at home.
In Year 1, our homework expectations are that your child reads daily. Each term there is a daily reading challenge whereby points are collected for an end of term reward. Every week, one piece of homework should be completed. This will be posted in Seesaw for your child to access.
